Spirit Airlines promo codes & deals

Spirit Airlines is an affordable, low-cost airline that serves over 90 destinations across the U.S., Latin America and the Caribbean. In addition to its unmistakably yellow airplanes, the company is well known for matching its low fares with its “À La Smarte” travel experience, in which travel add-ons and upgrades are charged a la carte to your ticket price. À La Smarte options included everything from carry-on and checked baggage to assigned seats, priority boarding, and inflight beverages and snacks.

If you need to cancel your flight within 24 hours of booking with Spirit, you can do so for a full refund, provided the travel dates are at least seven days in advance.

When booking with Spirit, you can also add “Cancel For Any Reason” coverage to your itinerary for an additional fee. This coverage allows you to cancel up 24 hours before your reservation’s departure date for a refund or future travel credit valid for one year. You can choose between 100% or 80% coverage. With 100% coverage, you can get a full refund, while 80% coverage provides an 80% refund. For both options, the future travel credit is worth 100% of the original cost of the reservation.

Changes or cancellations to your Spirit reservation made at least 60 days before your departure date are free. Otherwise, a fee is charged based on how close you are to the departure date. Within 60 days of departure, the fee starts at $69. It increases to $99 for cancellations made within 30 days of departure and $119 for cancellations within six days of departure. To avoid fees, you may want to consider purchasing “Cancel For Any Reason” coverage when booking your flight.

Spirit offers two membership programs for travelers: Free Spirit and Spirit Saver$ Club. Its frequent flyer program, Free Spirit, is free to join. Spirit Saver$ Club costs $69.96 per year, but you can enjoy special savings and discounts on every flight to make the cost worth it.

Free Spirit

Join Free Spirit to earn at least 12 rewards points on every dollar spent with Spirit. Then, redeem your points on future travel in increments starting at 2,500 points. The points don’t expire as long as you continue to earn or redeem points with Spirit or its travel partners within a 12-month period. Earn enough points and you can unlock Silver or Gold membership status, where you can enjoy additional benefits like waived fees or even free checked bags.

Spirit Saver$ Club

The Spirit Saver$ Club is a discount program that helps frequent travelers and those traveling with multiple guests save the most on each flight. It does cost $69.96 per year, but you can access the lowest-rate fares for yourself and up to eight others traveling on your itinerary. You and your guests also get discounts on seat upgrades and checked and carry-on bags.

Active-duty military personnel get two free checked bags on Spirit flights. Verification through ID.me is required, and the bags must be added to the itinerary in advance when booking online or during online check-in. The discount is not available for bags added at the airport ticket counter.
