About discovery+
About discovery+
Discovery+ is a streaming service built around reality television, lifestyle programming, true crime, food, home improvement, and nature content rather than scripted dramas. Its library pulls together shows from HGTV, Food Network, Discovery Channel, TLC, and other well-known networks, giving subscribers a single destination for unscripted entertainment. Viewers who prefer documentary-style shows and long-running franchises over traditional prestige television gravitate toward the platform, and new episodes are added regularly alongside an extensive back catalog of past seasons.
Questions shoppers ask about discovery+
What subscription plans does discovery+ offer?
Discovery+ offers a limited-ad plan for $5.99 per month and an ad-free plan for $9.99 per month. Both subscriptions provide full access to the streaming library on supported devices. The primary difference is whether programs include commercial interruptions. Review the current plan details before subscribing, since pricing and features may change.
Does discovery+ offer a free trial?
Yes. Eligible new discovery+ customers receive a 7-day free trial with full access to the service before paid billing begins. Cancel before the trial period ends to avoid the first subscription charge. Trial availability may depend on the selected plan, signup method, and whether you previously subscribed through that account.
How do I cancel my discovery+ subscription?
Sign in at discoveryplus.com and open the Account section to cancel your subscription. Follow the displayed instructions until the cancellation is confirmed. You can continue streaming through the remainder of the current billing period. Removing the app from your device does not cancel the subscription or prevent future charges from being processed.
Does discovery+ offer student or military discounts?
Yes. Discovery+ offers discounted subscriptions for eligible students and military members. Complete the required verification process to confirm your status and access the special rate. Pricing, eligibility rules, renewal terms, and verification requirements differ by program. Review the current offer details before enrolling in or renewing a discounted subscription.
